The aquatic environment changes when night species emerge and daytime animals go dormant. Join the PADI Night Diver Specialty course if you've ever wondered what occurs underwater after sunset.
At once mysterious and intriguing, the idea of diving below the surface at night appears appealing. Even when you’ve dived at a certain location many times before, diving at night opens up a whole new world that you can see come to life as your dive light shines on it. As daytime species go to bed and nighttime critters appear the landscape changes. Enrol in the PADI Night Diver Specialty course if you’ve ever wondered what occurs underwater after sunset.
Participants in the Night Diver speciality course must be PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers or older and at least 12 years old.
Night diving helps you to focus on subtleties that you would miss during the day. You’ll discover:
- Communication and handling methods that are kind.
- Maneuvering in the dark when entering and leaving.
- Recognizing nighttime behavioural differences or differences between plants and animals.
Ask your instructor about earning credit for the first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification. Ask your teacher whether you may receive college credit for the Night Diver course.
Age Requirement: 12 years or older.
PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver (or qualifying entry-level certification)
Time Commitment: Approximately 2-4 hour
You’ll need a primary dive light and a backup light in addition to your standard diving gear. The personnel at Shamandura Dive Resort, including your PADI Instructor, may recommend alternative equipment, like as wearing extra exposure protection to feel comfortable after dark.
Before meeting with your PADI Instructor to book your three-night dives, learn more about night diving by reading and watching videos about it. Then, test your knowledge by taking interactive quizzes. If you want to sign up for the course or have any concerns regarding the course material, go to your neighbourhood PADI Dive Center or Resort.
